Helio Gracie congradulates Chet in 2003 after winning all matches by submission

Chet started learning Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in May of 1995, practicing off of the Gracie Instructional tapes with friends, and then attending 2 day seminars with Royce. In July of 1996 Chet completed the first ever Gracie Camp with Rorion Gracie and was awarded his Blue belt, and in February of 1997, Chet joined the Gracie Training Association and instructor program under Rorion and started his school. In August of 2000, Chet was awarded his Purple belt, and in November of 2003, Chet received his Brown belt and also was promoted to level 1 certified instructor under Rorion. In December 2007, Chet was promoted to Black belt and promoted to level 3 instructor. In July 2010 Chet was promoted to level 4 professor after his student Abram was promoted to Black Belt by Ryron & Rener Gracie. In July 2012 Chet was awarded his 1st degree on his Black Belt. Giving his students the best environment to learn and grow in has always been goal # 1 for Chet, and through his instructor training at the Gracie Academy, he is able to clearly pass on the techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to everyone, and has developed a keen eye for fixing technical problems at their root cause.
